Mr. Asesh Jyoti Dutta, Director - Finance & Strategy, Apeejay Surrendra Group
Asesh Jyoti Dutta is Director Finance & Strategy, Apeejay Surrendra Management Services Private Limited, where he is responsible to lead the Strategy, Finance & Accounts, Legal & Compliance functions of the Group. A Management Graduate from Calcutta University, with over 25 years of experience in Investment Banking, diverse sector knowledge and a strong Corporate & Banking connect. Prior to joining the Apeejay Group, he had a successful stint with IL&FS Financial Services Ltd. (IFIN), Mumbai, and performing multi-skill oriented role across financial products.
Mr Dutta has a rich and solid experience in Financing & Turnaround of Businesses, Corporate debt financing, Domestic and Offshore fund raising and Mergers & Acquisitions. In his erstwhile role, he was leading the asset management, corporate service functions and external interface activities of the company.
Mr Ramakrishn Ghosh, Director – Human Resources, Apeejay Surrendra Management Services Private Limited
Ramakrishn Ghosh is Director – Human Resources, Apeejay Surrendra Management Services Private Limited. An alumnus of Ravenshaw College, Cuttack, he has also completed PGCHRM from XLRI, Jamshedpur and has an experience of nearly two decades handling various HR functions. His key interest lies in Organisational Development & Restructuring, Talent Management and HR analytics and is a life member of NHRD, Kolkata Chapter. He started his career with Mbit Computraining, New Delhi, as a Management Trainee handling training, recruitment and placements. From there, he moved to Abacus Management Consultants where he looked after talent assessment, development and management and also worked with Customer in New Delhi. In 2005, he moved to Kolkata and joined the HR team at Apeejay where he was responsible for talent acquisition for the Group after which he joined Spencer’s Retail as Regional HR Manager (East) and helped in making it the youngest region to attain profitability with lowest manpower cost per SFT. From Spencer’s, he moved to GKB Opticals where he handled the HR function as well as operations for the entire group. In 2011, he began his second stint with Apeejay handling two key functions – talent acquisition and organizational development, and revamping the Group’s Performance Management System. In his leisure time, he likes to write stories and poems.
Mr. Subhransu Mandal, Executive Director - Chairman's Office, Apeejay Surrendra Group
Subhransu Mandal is Executive Director- Chairman's Office, Apeejay Surrendra Management Services Private Limited. He has over 3 decades of experience in Strategic Operations Management, People Management, Process Management & Re-engineering, and Customer Experience Management.
Prior joining to Apeejay, he was with Hero Fincorp Limited as Executive Vice President & Head of Operations and was responsible for designing and implementing business strategies, plans and procedures by setting up comprehensive goals for performance. In the past, he has worked with Family Credit Limited and HDFC Bank in various capacities like Assistant Vice President, Management Controller, and Head of Operations. He is skilled at Operations and implementing processes in line with the Organization's goals. He has the experience of developing procedures, service standards for business excellence and possesses the ability to improve operations, impact business growth and maximize profits through achievement in Operations Management, Internal Control, Productivity, and Efficiency Improvements.
Mr. Mandal was associated with Apeejay Tea and Apeejay Finance for 16 years till 2006. A commerce graduate from Calcutta University and has attended Wharton Executive Education at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia. He is a student of the Academy of Fine Arts-Calcutta and enjoys painting and photography and also loves socializing with people, traveling, sports and music. He is based out of Kolkata.
Mr. Jayanta Bhowmik, Chief Technology Officer, Apeejay Surrendra Group
Mr. Bhowmik joined Apeejay Surrendra Group on 15 October 2014 as Chief Technology Officer (CTO). Prior to joining Apeejay, Mr Bhowmik was with TEGA industries as Chief Information Officer (CIO) and was heading the Group IT organization and Enterprise IT operation. In a career spanning over 25 years, he has worked with Linde Gases Gmbh, HCL Technologies and ABP Limited in various capacities. He brings with him rich and diverse experience in Information & Technology function – more specifically in developing and managing large and complex global IT systems & processes, executing Enterprise level IT implementation initiatives, providing expertise & skills in developing & managing large scale IT infrastructure and implementation of SAP projects globally. An Electrical Engineering alumnus of Jadavpur University, Mr Bhowmik is a certified ISO 9001: 2000 lead auditor and is trained in PMP, CMM, BS7799 & CISSP and ITIL Foundation course. His hobbies are traveling, reading, listening to music and swimming.
Ms. Shikha Mukherjee, CSR Advisor
Shikha Mukherjee is Advisor, Corporate Social Responsibility and directly oversees the Anand Paul Education Support Programme in Kolkata for under privileged children and Apeejay Tea’s CSR and Sustainability programmes. The prestigious The Paul Foundation scholarships programme for academic excellence was started by her. She completed her Master of Arts from Jawaharlal Nehru University in 1977 and joined The Times of India Group in 1978. She headed the launch of The Times of India edition in Kolkata and remained Political Editor of The Times of India till 2001. By virtue of her illustrious academic background, professional expertise and commitment to development issues, Shikha has taken the Anand Paul Education Support Programme in Kolkata, for under privileged children and Apeejay Tea’s CSR and Sustainability programmes from strength to strength.
Ms. Renu Kakkar, Director Corporate Communications & CSR, Apeejay Surrendra Group
Renu Kakkar is Director Corporate Communications & CSR , Apeejay Surrendra Group and is an alumnus of Lady Sri Ram College and IIMC. She joined the Financial Services division as a manager in 2000 backed with her experience as a career finance journalist. Renu has moved through various operations and held an additional charge of heading the Corporate Software Development cell, a Group capability she created in 2001. Prior to joining Apeejay, she was Assistant Editor with The Telegraph. Renu has the distinction of being the youngest reporter investigating the biggest stock market scandal of the early 1990s for the Financial Express. Diversity keeps her challenged and allows her to have fun at work.
