Joy Srinivasan
Chairperson & Managing Trustee of Makkala Jagriti – an NGO
Joy is Chairperson & Managing Trustee of Makkala Jagriti – an NGO she founded in 2003 along with few other colleagues. She also works as a freelance consultant to organizations and an associate of many consulting organizations & NGOs. She is an accredited Professional Member of Indian Society for Applied Behavioral Sciences (ISABS), and a graduate of five-year Women's Collaborative Leadership Development Program offered by Mayyam and Aikya, Bangalore and Weir Merrill Associates, U.S.A.

She is also on the advisory board of Rural Youth Educational Trust (RYET) Pondicherry, South India. She is a Teaching Faculty at Women's Way – United States of America and T-Group Trainer of Indian Society for Applied Behavioural Science Regional Co-ordinator of ISABS Bangalore Chapter. She had worked in corporate sector for over 15 years and decided to give up her career in industry to pursue her path of working for the social movement. Makkala Jagriti focuses on issues of education and community development for the economically and emotionally challenged children and adults.

Makkala Jagriti (MJ) has evolved under her leadership as a democratic and collaborative organization promoting and facilitating learning centers for children from economically disadvantaged communities, Government School & Government Institutions. Her participation in other learning events include Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP); Gender Training conducted by Institute of Management in Government and the Group Relations Conferences (Tavistock model of Human Relations) She has consistently built skills in facilitation, process work, diversity, working with unconscious dynamics, through these learning events.
