Sudha Kaul
Sudha Kaul , the founder of Indian Institute of Cerebral Palsy (IICP), was driven by an intrinsic belief in the ability to learn in children with special needs. The institution founded in April 1974, to provide services to children with cerebral palsy, has grown into a major training institute in India and is a catalyst agency, having initiated services for cerebral palsy in major cities in India and every district of West Bengal. IICP won the National Award from the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India for the Best Disability NGO in 2004.

In 2007-2009, Sudha was appointed President of the International Society for Augmentative and Alternative Communication (ISAAC), an international Society for persons with complex communication needs. Sudha is the recipient of several national and international accolades and was awarded the Padmashree in 2004. She holds a Phd in in Augmentative and Alternative Communication from Manchester Metropolitan University. She has authored several a books on AAC and presented papers at several national and international conferences.

Sudha retired as the Executive Director of IICP in April 2010, she is currently Chairing a Committee on bringing out a new Disability Legislation for India.
