Founded in 1903, Typhoo Tea Ltd is the largest private label tea packer and the second largest tea manufacturer in the UK with over 4,000 years of experience within the team.


The business exports to over 50 countries worldwide and is responsible for the purchasing, blending, transportation and manufacture of black tea, green tea and fruit & herb infusions in both loose and teabag formats.


Typhoo Tea produces, markets and distributes the iconic British tea brand Typhoo as well as the authentic Welsh brand Glengettie, Scottish Brand Melrose’s, leading instant tea brand Lift, healthy infusions brand Heath & Heather, speciality tea brand Ridgways of London, London Fruit & Herb as well as coffee brand Red Mountain. Typhoo is also a leader in the private label market with over 60% share.


Typhoo is one of the UK´s most loved tea brands and has a rich heritage of strong TV advertising with ads starring the likes of Frankie Howard, Su Pollard, Cilla Black, Ben Fogle, right up to the current Brand Ambassador, Chef and TV Presenter Nigella Lawson. At over 100 years old, Typhoo has been proudly producing ´Great British Tea since 1903´.


Typhoo also leads the UK tea industry in sustainability with its ‘Greenprint for Good’ corporate sustainability plan. This plan outlines the goals that Typhoo wants to achieve with regards to the environment, use of natural resources, operational excellence, trading fairly and community initiatives. The Moreton site has achieved zero waste to landfill every year since 2010 and also reduced the carbon foot print of tea import shipments by 90% through direct shipments to the home port of Liverpool. Typhoo are a member of the Ethical Tea partnership with all tea sourced via Ethical tea partnership approved suppliers who also have Rainforest alliance accreditation.
